The Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional (UCI), based in Costa Rica, is a higher education institution dedicated to regenerative development and systemic thinking. Its mission is to create innovative opportunities in education, research, and cooperation to foster the development of universally ethical societies that live in balance with nature.

Founded in 1994, the university differentiates itself by moving beyond traditional sustainability models, focusing instead on “regenerative development” — the practice of restoring and revitalizing the systems we inhabit rather than merely maintaining them. Through a largely virtual, interdisciplinary approach, UCI trains professionals to address complex global challenges with a holistic perspective, integrating knowledge across borders to build more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous communities. The “Mycelium Learning Network” is the initiative facilitated by the UCI to promote this global exchange of knowledge and regenerative action.
